Spider Veins

What are Spider Veins?

A manifestation of leaky valves and veins can result in very small pressurised veins in the superficial layer of the skin that look like tiny spider legs, hence the name ‘Spider Veins’.

They are irregular and wavy in their course and can be lumped together in particular areas in the skin of the legs.

The legs are the most commonplace for spider veins to develop as the pressure of veins are high in the legs.

Spider veins are often seen alongside varicose veins.
