What is a Balloon Angioplasty?

Through a small needle entering the artery in the groin (the femoral artery), using very fine wires and catheters, a balloon is inserted into the artery and through the narrowing in your artery inside your body, and is inflated under pressure then deflated and removed. This results in an opening of the arterial tube to allow the passage of oxygenated blood through the artery.
